Sustainability Award 2026: Gesteco in the Top 75 Performance ranking

For the third time, we have been included in the rankings of the award promoted by Kon Group, which recognises the sustainability commitment of Italian companies.

On Thursday 15 October, in Milan, the rankings of the sixth edition of the Sustainability Award were presented. This year, Gesteco was selected in the category that recognises improvement in sustainability results over time.

That evening, Palazzo Mezzanotte, home of the Italian Stock Exchange, hosted the sixth edition of the Sustainability Award. The award is promoted by Kon Group together with Banca Patrimoni Sella and Openes, with Forbes Italia as media partner. The ceremony brought together entrepreneurs, managers, and representatives of the financial and academic communities who have chosen to make sustainability a driver of growth.

Gesteco was represented by Adriano Luci, President of Gruppo Luci and Vice President of Gesteco, and Cristina Luci, Chief Operating Officer.

During the evening, the lists of selected companies were presented; they are also published in the October issue of Forbes Italia. Gesteco is among them: we have been included in the Top 75 Performance, the category for companies that recorded the most significant progress in their sustainability results.

Our journey with the Sustainability Award since 2023

This is our third time in the award’s Top rankings. It is a source of pride for a company from Friuli like ours, measuring itself against businesses from across Italy.

In 2023 we entered the award’s rankings for the first time, in both the Top 100 Excellence and the Top 100 Performance. In 2024 we were recognised in three rankings: Top 100 ESG Excellence, Top 75 Innovation for Sustainability, and Top ESG Leaders.

This year’s inclusion in the Top 75 Performance reflects progress that has been measured and assessed by independent third parties.

An award designed to measure

The Sustainability Award was created with a clear purpose: to measure the sustainability of Italian companies and give the financial community a reliable benchmark for assessing it. Over time, alongside the level achieved, the award has also started to measure improvement, meaning a company’s ability to make progress year after year.

We identify with this approach. Selection is based on ESG ratings, verifiable data, and scientific analysis carried out by third parties. The questionnaire and scoring model are developed with scientific partners such as ALTIS (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) and Politecnico di Milano, with RepRisk as technical partner.

The evening also offered a snapshot of the state of Italian companies. Attention to environmental and social issues is now well established. Governance is the area with the most room for growth, and progress there is already visible. The common thread was that sustainability becomes a competitive advantage when it is fully integrated into business strategy. This is the direction we work in every day.

Measuring to improve

“What counts is what can be demonstrated” says Adriano Luci. “Measurement is the yardstick against which we want our work to be compared and judged. This recognition tells us we are on the right track.”

This principle guides both how we operate and the environmental services we provide to businesses. The recognition comes at a time when the Omnibus package has reduced EU reporting obligations. In this context, our choice to keep measuring and reporting carries even greater weight.

Our journey continues beyond the award. Like all participating companies, we will receive a sustainability report prepared as part of the award. This year it also includes analysis of financial and strategic aspects and of enterprise value. It will be a practical tool to guide our next steps.
