Strong participation and technical discussion at the “EMISSIONS” conference in Venice

The event was held at Confindustria Veneto Est on 23 October

On 23 October 2025, the technical conference “EMISSIONS - Impacts | Regulations | Solutions” was held at Confindustria Veneto Est, bringing together companies, technical professionals and institutional representatives to engage in a focused discussion on the major challenges related to industrial emissions.

Organised by Gesteco together with Labiotest and LOD, all part of the Gruppo Luci, which has long been active in the environment and sustainability sectors, EMISSIONS 2025 was conceived to provide an updated and integrated insight into regulatory, technological and managerial aspects that industrial entities, particularly in the manufacturing sector, face on a daily basis.

A technical forum for companies, authorities and professionals

The conference was designed as an operational exchange platform, enabling companies, regulatory bodies and environmental professionals to discuss key ongoing changes:

  • Regulatory evolution and new authorisation requirements
  • Integrated approaches to emission control
  • Health implications and risk management
  • Advanced monitoring systems and data interpretation
  • The role of research, start-ups and process innovation

For Gesteco, which for years has supported industries in environmental management and authorisations, these topics lie at the core of a trajectory that goes beyond mere compliance to embrace a proactive and sustainable management of impacts.

High-profile speakers for a technically rich event

The roster of speakers underlined the event’s orientation toward high-level technical and scientific content:

  • Prof. Michela Signoretto - Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Delegate for Scientific Research, expert in industrial chemistry and sustainable process technologies, founder of the spin-off Ve Nice.
  • Dr Gaetano Settimo - Italian Society of Indoor Air Quality (SIIAQ), international reference for indoor/outdoor air quality, regulation and impact mitigation.
  • Avv. Domenico Giuri - Studio MDA, specialist in environmental criminal law and workplace safety, supporting businesses for over thirty years on liability and compliance issues.
  • Dr Luca Zagolin - ARPAV Veneto, with a focus on emission monitoring experience and regional air-quality reporting, and on technical working groups with MASE and local institutions.

Real-world case studies and the integrated approach of Gruppo Luci

The second part of the conference focused on field experiences, with three case studies from diverse industrial sectors:

  • Livenza Tagliamento Acque Spa: solutions adopted in the integrated water-management sector for emission treatment.
  • Novamont Spa: management of odorous emissions in biological plants, hurdles and results achieved.
  • Marchi Industriali Spa: deployment of advanced tools and models for continuous monitoring in a shifting regulatory environment.

These were complemented by technical interventions from Gesteco, Labiotest and LOD, which presented the integrated approach of Gruppo Luci: monitoring, technology and environmental management as components of a single project path, aimed at identifying the most appropriate solutions for different emission-related challenges.

A continuing journey

To sustain the work developed during the conference, a dedicated online section was made available featuring the presentation materials and the full event video, enabling participants and industry professionals to deepen the covered topics.

Gesteco, together with the other companies of Gruppo Luci, intends to continue this path, promoting independent spaces for dialogue where companies, technicians, regulatory bodies and consultants can meet in a direct, concrete and operational way on the crucial topic of industrial emissions.
