Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) FVG 2025 Award: Gesteco recognised as a “health-promoting company”

Being a safe workplace means far more than complying with regulations. It means taking daily care of people, inside and outside the company. With this mindset, Gesteco has received the WHP FVG 2025 Award within the Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) programme, an initiative supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and by the regional healthcare authorities.

The recognition, conferred by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Western Friuli Healthcare Authority, acknowledges our ongoing commitment to fostering healthy lifestyles and organisational wellbeing.

WHP FVG: shared values for health promotion since 2019

For seven years, Gesteco, together with the Group Luci companies based in Friuli Venezia Giulia, has been part of the WHP network. Joining the programme was not a formality but the start of a sustained effort involving internal functions, local partners and, above all, our people.

Many initiatives were shaped by employee feedback: from organising an in-house five-a-side football tournament to taking part in charity sports events such as Telethon and the 24h of Buttrio, and creating cultural moments for families.

Our guiding idea is simple: health and wellbeing grow through everyday choices that are accessible, shared and long-lasting.

Wellbeing starts with details

Over time, we have implemented practical actions that translate into healthier habits and environments.

Across sites and plants we expanded the offer of higher-nutritional-value snacks and adjusted hot-drink dispensers towards “zero sugar” options. We also ensure free drinking water to encourage proper hydration.

Alongside the promotion of physical activity, supported by partnerships with nearby gyms, we have invested in work–life balance measures and cultural opportunities for employees and their families, in collaboration with local organisations, including support for sports clubs such as UEB Gesteco Cividale.

Community at the centre

Our Povoletto headquarters has been equipped with a defibrillator available not only to staff but to the entire industrial area of Grions del Torre.

This is a tangible sign of community care, aligned with our view that health promotion is a shared responsibility. In parallel, we have introduced discounted access to specialist medical visits and agreements for everyday services, from food outlets to technical assistance.

Digital literacy and awareness

Health promotion today also means navigating digital spaces safely. Gesteco has launched awareness sessions on responsible use of devices and social media, cyber-threat prevention, and basic first-aid for minor injuries—both at work and at home. These cross-cutting skills help build a wider culture of prevention across all life contexts.

Our commitment continues

Our commitment to employee health and wellbeing is ongoing. The WHP FVG 2025 Award is both a milestone and a starting point. It confirms the direction we have taken and motivates us to consolidate existing actions, improve them with people’s participation, and develop new ones together with local partners.

For Gesteco, promoting health means creating value, for our people, for the company and for the community. It’s a responsibility renewed every day through concrete choices and behaviours.
